We're really excited to announce that Pure Fashion will be coming for the first time to Akron in
2008- 2009! Here's your opportunity to become a model of style and grace on the runway and in life. To learn more about this exciting nationwide movement, visit the Pure Fashion national home page. Also check out these videos and photos of the Pure Fashion program around the country.
The Akron Pure Fashion model training program will include many fun and exciting opportunities for a young lady's personal and physical development! Our program is designed to help teen girls develop into confident, virtuous, competent women. For as Aristotle said, "Happiness is a life of virtue." Don't miss out on this exciting program where you, or someone you know, can become a model of style and virtue.
Classes will include everything from how to walk the runway, hair and make-up lessons, developing public speaking skills, how to dress appropriately for every occasion, and improving manners! The 2009 Pure Fashion models will also participate in an outreach project.
Online applications for models are now being accepted. Participation is open to girls ages 14-18. All you need to do is go to our online application, fill it out, and click "submit". The deadline for application has been extended to October 20, 2008. Final model selections will be made before the first session on October 25. Our Model Training Program Schedule
The training sessions will be offered over a course of 9 months which will culminate with the Pure Fashion Show on May 17, 2009.
Below you will find an outline of the 2008-2009 Pure Fashion model formation program. Please note that minor changes may be necessary as the 2008-2009 program is finalized.
Participation in all of the scheduled sessions is required. Any model who misses more than one training session, will not be able to model in the fashion show. In addition, all rehearsals and fittings are mandatory for participation in the fashion show.

Spotlight on Beauty

The first official gathering for this year's models. You and your parents will meet the Pure Fashion organizational committee and learn what it means to be a Pure Fashion model. Models will receive the Pure Fashion "Creed." We'll have hors d'ouevres and watch clips from a Pure Fashion show!
Mother-Daughter Tea

Get ready to be treated like royalty while learning how to act like it, too! An afternoon focusing on "Pure Manners and Social Graces." Our young ladies will be reminded of the necessity of good manners which encourage respect and decency. The models will be inspired to act in accordance with their dignity as confident, capable, respectable young women.

As the Pure Fashion models prepare their hearts for the Christmas season, what could be a more beautiful way to display their true beauty than by creating an opportunity for them to love and serve others. Our Pure Fashion models will have an opportunity to participate in the Giving Tree project and help those in need while cultivating the virtues of charity and generosity. For as we know, authentic beauty stems from a heart filled with love and concern for others.
Reflections Spa Day

Our Pure Fashion models will enjoy a fun day of learning make-up tips and hairstyling techniques from some of Akron's most talented hair and make-up artists! On this day you will also have your Pure Fashion headshot taken which will be used in the program book at the Pure Fashion Show in May. The 2009 Pure Fashion models will also receive their own Pure Fashion make-up kit with the make-up they need to enhance their own natural beauty!
Heart & Soul Makeover Retreat
February 20-21, 2009; Friday at 6 pm till Saturday at 7:30 pm
Loyola of the Lakes Retreat House, 700 Killinger Rd, Clinton, OH 44216
This retreat will help develop the model's awareness that the fashion industry mitigates against true beauty and to commit them to working toward a culture of authentic beauty. The girls will learn about purity and how to live it personally, in their relationships with others, and with God.

Akron's Pure Fashion models are going to be leaders and trendsetters, and will therefore benefit by developing their communication skills. Models will develop confidence as they learn that their fresh and virtuous message captivates their audience. They will learn about overcoming stage fright and how to write a talk or presentation.

Akron's Pure Fashion models of modesty and virtue will not only "talk the talk" but they will "walk the walk" with elegance, confidence, grace, and dignity on the fashion runway as well as the runways of life. Our body language and posture speak volumes before we even say a word! Pure Fashion aims to develop personal confidence through instruction on walking, sitting, and standing like a young lady....because we never get a second chance to make a first impression.
