A Celebration of Style and Virtue... Here in Rochester, NY!
The Pure Fashion model training program for 2010 will include many fun and exciting opportunities for a young lady's personal and physical development! Classes will include everything from how to walk the runway, hair and makeup lessons, developing public speaking skills, how to dress appropriately for every occasion, and improving formal table manners. The 2010 Pure Fashion models will participate in an outreach project and attend a Pure Fashion model retreat which will offer presentations on "The history of fashions in America", "Body image and self-confidence", and "How to dress trendy yet still tasteful". The training sessions will be offered over a course of 9 months which will lead up to the Pure Fashion Show in the spring of 2010.
For the $350 cost of the program ($300 for siblings), models will receive professional training, cost of retreat, a DVD of Pure Fashion 2010, photo, surprise gifts from training sessions, and the opportunity to model in Rochester's most unique fashion show!
Some restrictions apply: Models must be in 9th - 12th grade. If a model misses 1 or more training sessions, she will not be able to model in the fashion show. Rehearsals and fittings are mandatory along with all the other training sessions. All events start on time; please be punctual.
Pure Fashion Introductory Session
This information meeting will cover the history of Pure Fashion, the mission, the calendar and the financial requirements. *ATTENDANCE AT ONE INFORMATION MEETING IS MANDATORY*
Etiquette and Manners
To be a real model of womanhood, you need to be able to handle yourself with dignity and grace in any social setting. Pure Fashion Models will fine-tune their social graces with a workshop on etiquette and table manners, covering everything from the fine points of how to wipe your mouth with a napkin properly, how to introduce yourself and others in social settings, etc.
Mother-Daughter Tea
The Mother-Daughter Tea will be a lighthearted and yet elegant occasion for mothers and daughters to share their fashion foibles and their ideals. There will also be a fascinating DVD on the History of Fashion as it has evolved through the past few centuries, all the way up to the present time.
Beauty Day
This will be a fun day for the girls to learn make-up tips and hairstyling techniques from experienced hair and makeup artists! Each young woman will be given the necessary personal attention to learn the art of makeup application and modern hairstyling.
Service Day
Authentic beauty stems from a heart filled with love and concern for others. The Pure Fashion Service Day is an opportunity for the girls to display their true beauty by loving and serving others. Models will help those in need, while cultivating the virtues of charity and generosity.
Pure Fashion Weekend Retreat
Our weekend retreat will be a wonderful opportunity for the girls to "get away", have fun with each other, and focus on the reasons behind choosing to be "modest and pure". Some of the topics to be discussed on the retreat will include: how to dress to protect one’s innocence and purity, how to support retailers and designers who support and promote values and virtues, a wardrobe clinic on how to be modest but still "modern" and "stylish", and a public speaking workshop. There will also be a special talk and activity on "pure dating."
Runway Outfit Selection
The runway outfit selection process will be an exciting moment for the girls to visit our sponsors in the mall or at local boutiques to pick out the outfits they will wear for the fashion show. Pure Fashion personnel will accompany the girls to help them pick out the clothes that suit them best, and to coordinate fittings as needed.
